Broadgate Quarter – Strip Out, Asbestos Removal, Asbestos Surveys
Client: Revantage Real Estate (a Blackstone Portfolio Company)
Completion Date: 2025
Services: Strip Out, Asbestos Removal, Asbestos Surveys
Collaborations: Globechain, Uplyfted, Saint-Gobain: Glass Forever
Project Overview
KpH was appointed to deliver internal strip out and enabling works across Broadgate Quarter, covering 9 Appold Street and 1 Snowden Street. With the buildings still partially occupied, the works had to be carefully planned to avoid disrupting those using the space while preparing it for future redevelopment. Alongside core strip out activities, KpH placed strong focus on environmental and social value, partnering with circular economy specialists to redistribute materials and reduce landfill.

Project Requirements
KpH delivered full soft strip and enabling works across both buildings, including welfare setup, M&E isolations, internal finishes removal, and waste clearance. Materials were safely removed via internal loading bays, with on-site banksmen managing logistics to maintain safety and flow. Alongside our reuse partnerships with Globechain and Uplyfted, we also worked with Saint-Gobain to recover 51.3 tonnes of glass, contributing to the project’s circular economy targets and minimising waste to landfill – all while meeting strict City of London regulations on noise and access.
Project Challenges
- Operating in a live, tenanted building meant that all activities had to be planned around active services and public access.
- Lift access had to be prioritised for tenants, so waste movements were timed and controlled to avoid disruption during peak hours.
- Maintaining compliance with local regulations required ongoing communication, daily reviews, and responsive site coordination.
- Deliveries were scheduled late morning to minimise disturbance for neighbouring properties, while still keeping the programme on track.
Project Outcomes
- Working in a partially occupied site called for constant communication, flexibility, and respect for those sharing the space.
- Redirecting over 45 tonnes of material through our Globechain partnership showed that reuse at scale is not only possible — it adds real social impact.
- Collaborating with Uplyfted created genuine circular value, proving that specialist partners can help extend the life of materials and support community housing initiatives.
- Careful waste logistics and delivery planning helped us maintain site safety and protect relationships with neighbours, even within tight city-centre constraints.
