Our Carbon Commitment

We Are Making Responsible Choices.

We all have a responsibility to do what we can to reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry. And at KpH we take this responsibility seriously.

Our Carbon Plan sets out our commitments to:

become a net zero organisation by 2045
reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 40% by 2035
reduce Scope 3 emissions by 42% by 2050.

We Are Making Good Progress.

In 2021 our baseline emissions report was published. Since then we have:

reduced carbon intensity by 35%
reduced Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 85%

(in 2022 we implemented improved data collection systems resulting in a more accurate measurement of our Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Part of this reduction is attributable to enhanced data accuracy and is not entirely from a physical reduction in emissions.)

We are reducing carbon emissions across our operations. Through our bespoke and interactive real-time dashboards we measure energy, travel and waste, including:

KpH fleet mileage
waste carrier mileage/ emissions data
electricity consumption
water consumption
converted all lighting across our sites and head office to use LEDs.

We are also measuring carbon emissions for our clients, enabling data-driven decision making.

Our in-house sustainability team is providing clients with bespoke digital app solutions to track carbon emissions and material assets, increasing accessibility and accuracy of data and supporting Scope 3 reporting.

We provide our clients with real-time materials lifecycle data, by tracking materials to onward reuse destinations. Our Carbon emissions tracker captures delivery and waste carrier data.

We Are Making An Impact.

Our sustainability team continues to drive improvements and ensure we are making a meaningful impact. We are:

piloting the use of solar panels across our project sites and head office
exploring ways of reducing energy consumption across our project sites and head office (including use of PIR sensors onsite and in head office)
considering the feasibility of transitioning to more eco-friendly vehicles
encouraging greener commuting options for all employees
investing in in-house platforms to capture improved scope 3 emissions data
continuing to improve waste hierarchy outcomes.
