Health and safety underpins everything we do, from the way we plan our logistics to how we operate on site.

Our award-winning, in-house, experienced SHEQ team, led by our SHEQ Director and supported by a Health & Safety Advisor and H&S Administrator, ensures safety standards are upheld through regular audits, inspections and detailed reporting. Our Directors personally conduct site visits to reinforce this commitment at every level.

We take a proactive approach: from multilingual safety briefings, RAMS, induction and training videos as well as undertaking random and for cause routine drug and alcohol testing. We ensure everyone on site is informed and empowered. Our induction process, 5-point PPE, and mental health first aiders are just part of our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.

And we’re always looking ahead – our Employee Safety Questionnaire has sparked a new behavioural safety campaign, centred on speaking up and getting it right first time.

We’re the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2024 Best ESG Practices winner. From insight days and work placements to low-carbon training hours and impactful mentoring, our social value strategy is more than just talk – it’s action.

Under Managing Director Lyndsey West, our Corporate Social Responsibility plan delivers real change. We work with youth prisons, schools and community organisations to reach underrepresented groups. We work with the Drive Forward Foundation, Youthbuild, Bi-borough Virtual School, and the Construction Youth Trust to open doors through mentorship, internships and apprenticeships.

We are playing our part in closing the skills gap, and improving access into our industry by working with colleges across the UK to improve access to the Demolition Operative Apprenticeship. Every year we make a commitment to recruit new apprentices into this programme.

Our in-house Reuse App and strategic reuse and recycling partnerships keep sustainability at the forefront. Our dedicated in-house BREEAM AP supports operational and client teams in achieving BREEAM and other sustainability accreditation goals across KpH projects.

From youth education to sustainable innovation, KpH’s CSR journey is bold, honest and determined to make a difference where it matters.

At KpH, we’re using innovative technology to cut construction emissions and support cleaner, diesel-free sites. From improving air quality to reducing exposure to harmful pollutants, our approach is driving real change on the ground and in the data.

At our 33-35 Piccadilly project, where we undertook complete demolition down to the ground floor slab, we operated an all-electric plant and machinery fleet, thereby reducing the use of diesel. It wasn’t easy. We faced limited charging infrastructure and breakdown delays due to the specialist equipment.  However, we exceeded our target, and achieved a 85% reduction in construction emissions, before having to switch to low-carbon HVO-powered machinery at first floor level.

This is how we’re building smarter. Cleaner sites. Sharper data. Greater accountability. Because future-focused construction demands more than promises – it demands precision.

We’ve developed an in-house carbon emissions tracking system that goes beyond industry averages. It records real-time emissions data across strip out activities, waste removal, and all site deliveries and collections by specific vehicle and route. This level of detail boosts transparency and reinforces our sustainability credentials.

Every item identified for reuse is catalogued, photographed, and tracked in real-time, with outcomes logged – reuse, recycling, retention, or donation.

Our live tracker captures material type, condition, and destination, ensuring comprehensive traceability of assets. We also coordinate waste streams and skip loads for maximum efficiency and minimal impact.

We are collaborating with progressive organisations and clients to challenge convention and do things differently.

We’re tackling the skills gap head-on – investing in our people and helping the next generation lead the change. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, we promote best practices across the sector.

We believe in making a positive social impact and creating social value in the communities we work in. We regularly participate in community outreach and engagement projects. We work with local charities and grassroots organisations in the areas that we operate, supporting their localised objectives through initiatives including foodbank collections, fundraising and volunteering.

Our Social Value & Quality Manager leads our social value team to ensure that we are creating lasting positive outcomes for people, communities and the environment, long after our projects are completed.
