Services: Strip Out, Secondary Structure Alterations & Non-Structural Alterations
Collaborations: Globechain, SAS International, Material Index
Project Overview
KpH delivered strip out and enabling works at 1 Appold Street, a 190,000 sq ft commercial property in the City of London. The 22-week project formed part of a wider redevelopment strategy and required delivery in a busy, congested environment.

Project Requirements
Full internal soft strip back to the structural frame across all floors, including removal of partitions, ceilings, M&E services, and tenant installations. Essential systems were retained and protected throughout. Sustainable material diversion and reuse were maximised and integrated into the delivery.
Project Challenges
- Piloting the SAS International ceiling tile take back scheme.
- Sustainability targets added complexity, requiring early collaboration with reuse networks and manufacturers.
Project Outcomes
Integrating reuse and take-back schemes from the start improves sustainability outcomes.
