Our People

We Are Doings Things Differently.

We are proud of our people and the progress we are making together.

We have over 300 people across dedicated divisions providing specialist deconstruction, demolition, strip out, structural alterations, pre-refurbishment, pre-demolition and circular economy audits, and builders’ works services.

Our senior leadership team is hands-on, sharing decades of expertise to guide clients and ensure project success. Every one of our clients and projects benefits from their personal involvement.

We hold real and open conversations early on in the project process so we can understand how to achieve the safest, most sustainable and most efficient outcome. By challenging assumptions, we are finding better ways of doing things.

KpH has earned a reputation for hard work, straight talking and doing things differently.

We Work Together.

We’re an employee-owned business where our people share the same values and work towards a shared goal to deliver solutions precisely, safely and sustainably.

We are committed to creating a culture of loyalty and collaboration. Many of our team, on site and in our head office, have been part of KpH for years.

We are proud to have formed long-standing partnerships with other organisations who share our commitments to deliver sustainable solutions, to protect the environment and to reduce carbon emissions.

All of our people uphold the high standards we expect – ensuring every site and every project runs safely, smoothly, and on time – the KpH way.

Nurturing Talent.

We care about our people and have created an environment that enables every individual to thrive personally and professionally.

Collaboration is at our core and by working together and learning from one another we help each other achieve more.

We know there is a significant skills gap in our industry and we are doing what we can to close this. We work with other contractors, our supply chain and local education providers to align training provision with industry need and to improve accessibility.

We offer many different career routes; internships and work experience, site-based mentoring, and paid apprenticeships. Let us help you fulfil your potential and ambition.

Promoting Pathways.

We care about promoting social mobility through sustainable education, training and employment opportunities. We collaborate with organisations to help us connect with harder-to-reach young people and those who are marginalised or disadvantaged.

We want to make it easier to enter, develop and progress in construction. We do this through:

  • organising school and college tours of KpH projects

  • attending careers events at schools and colleges

  • hosting insight days on site

  • exhibiting at job fairs in the areas in which we work

  • engaging with youth prisons, educational institutions, and community organisations serving underrepresented youth

  • supporting the Drive Forward Foundation, helping those leaving care transition into a career.

Delivering Change.

At KpH we are building a workforce that reflects the make-up of the communities in which we work. By rolling out unconscious bias training, and making it mandatory for our leadership and supervisory teams, we are able to recognise and challenge biases in our recruitment processes and in our behaviour.

We are taking active steps to improve equality, diversity and inclusion:

  • we operate a zero tolerance approach to discrimination, all of our operatives are encouraged to report anything they see or hear that makes them feel uncomfortable

  • every KpH site provides 5 point PPE especially designed for women, as well as dedicated women’s welfare facilities

  • we are working hard to make our sites more accessible

  • we have multi-faith rooms on projects where we are Principal Contractor

  • we operate family-friendly policies

  • we provide flexible working arrangements

  • 44% of our PAYE workforce are female.
